Incident: Tanker attacked

A tanker, not otherwise identified, defeated a boarding attempt in the Gulf of Aden by pirates in a white boat with blue stripes. "Five men holding long poles with hooks were seen but as soon as the vessel altered course and alarmed coalition warships, the boat passed by turned attention to another vessel. It was reported that the attempt on the second vessel was also unsuccessful as helicopters were seen heading to the area." (IMB via ONI Worldwide Threat to Shipping, 04/17/09)
